Spatially EmpowerED was founded in 2022 by two K-12 students passionate about GIS. Throughout their high school careers they did many projects using GIS and often noticed how their peers and teachers were unfamiliar with GIS. Throughout the years they decided to create a community of K-12 students and teachers interested in GIS by providing the knowledge and resources to get started.
At Spatially EmpowerED, we believe that learning should be engaging, interactive and fun. That's why we use a mix of self-paced online courses, in-person and virtual interactive sessions, and lessons personalized by schools to incorporate GIS seamlessly into existing curriculum. By incorporating it with student's interests and familiar subjects, we help educators to bring GIS to their classrooms.
